The firm was first founded in 1984 by Stavros Polychronakis (Civil Engineer) aiming to operate within the broad build environment in the area of central & west Crete.
The firm despite the difficult times the downturn of Greek economy at that period managed to gradually develop and gain important share of the competitive private and public construction and consulting market.
The firm has been delivered successfully many important construction projects.
- Stavros Polychronakis, FounderStavros Polychronakis has extensive working (over 35 years) experience in a plethora Construction Projects from Infrastructure (Roads, Buildings -schools, town halls, squares) to housing (block of flats, villas) and tourism (hotels) developments and he has being involved in all project stages [due diligence, feasibility study, design (architectural & structural), site management, maintenance]. Prior to founding Polyergo in early 80s he worked as civil engineer for the Planning Office of Rethymno. He is a graduate (Civil Engineering) of National Technical University of Athens (1979) and he is a qualified contractor of middle-scale public construction projects. At his free time he enjoys painting and he reads architectural books.
- Yannis PolychronakisYiannis is a UCL graduate and a chartered engineer. He was working in the UK for a well-known major international Engineering Consultancy as Lenders'/Investors' Technical Advisor for large scale PPP/PFI infrastructure projects in Greece and the UK. He has a good understanding of Project/Programme Management and Contract Management of PPP/PFI projects. Prior to his career he worked as site engineer and as graduate structural engineer. He is also experienced in the real estate sector and has a good knowledge of the Greek real estate market. He often travels around the globe for work or leisure.
- Orestis PolychronakisOrestis is an electrical & computer engineer with background in power engineering and renewable energy sources. He is involved in the photovoltaic business and has produced the study of many PV stations in Crete. Orestis enjoys meeting new people.
